Izzy looked back and forth at them. He'd gotten lost in a matter of seconds. Maybe he just went into a daze. "What's up to me?" he asked, laughing. "Sorry."

Maybe he was just partly out of it at the time. This wouldn't be a good time, though. He'd heard part of it, but when it got to the part where it was up to him, he just got lost.

Ethan felt a pang that jerked him back to reality. "Oh, er, sorry." Ethan said, humiliated. "I'll just go...er...bye...Callie...Izzy...er..." it took a few seconds to remember the third person's name "...Ashley..." he nodded, and started walking away.

Not knowing either of them that well, he didn't bother to ask them to come back. Not that he would have to know them well to do that, but he felt kind of embarrased already about what happened.
